the OREGON coast and SEATTLE

so this past week glen had a scout trip to jackson hole, wyoming. me and vince didn't want to stay home alone so mom invited us to go with her and the girls. we went to western oregon and we dropped katie and sam off to go to an oasc conference at western oregon university. we stayed in lake oswego for 2 days with aunt carmela and bristol. we got to see taylor too. which was great because i hadn't seen him for 6 or 7 years. it was a nice stay. aunt carmela lives on the canal and it's so beautiful. we just lounged around. it was really nice. on monday morning we drove to seattle (3 hours) and visited my uncle nick and aunt moey. that was such a fun visit. i hadn't seen them for a long time so it was nice to catch up. again we just visited and lounged around. on tuesday afternoon we went across the bridge into seattle and visited with uncle chris and aunt janet. that evening we went down to the boat marina and looked at all the boats and took vince on a walk in the stroller (thanks karli) it was a nice evening. wednesday morning we headed for the oregon coast. we stopped in seaside, or and walked on the beach. we drove around town and saw some cute shops. then we headed for cannon beach (8 miles south of seaside) what a great town. we looked around town, checked into an adorable hotel, and then headed for moe's chowder house. i had shrimp and clam chowder and it was excellent. we had a giant piece of cheese cake to celebrate my mom's birthday. the next morning we went all around cannon beach to the cute little shops. we say haystack rock - home of the movie the goonies. the weather was cold so we didn't do much walking on the beach but we did do a little. cannon beach was really fun. (that is where on of my best friends from high school is getting married in august. glen and i wish we could go but we have a family reunion on her wedding day-but yes, beautiful location) we headed down the coast that day and stopped at random places looking at the view and sights. we stopped in lincoln city, or and went to the great outlet mall. it was so much fun. they had great stores and we got some great buys-my personal favorites: we got vince an adorable jean jacket at the children's place for $2.00 yes $2.00 and i got an awesome pair of gap jeans for $20.00. i love gap jeans. after lincoln city, we headed for salem, or. (about 1 hour drive) we stayed at the best western and ordered pizza hut. we chilled in the room watching ace of cakes on tlc and eating pizza. we were bused and went to bed early. friday morning we got ready for the drive home by getting a bunch of great snacks. we headed for western oregon university (home of the oregon state track meet-i got goose bumps driving by....fun place to go) and we picked up katie and sammy. they had a great time at their conference. we headed for home and we made great time. vince was an excellent traveler. he did so good. he threw maybe 3 tantrums the whole trip. we were glad to be home by 11:00 that night. it was so nice to see glen again. he was excited to see us too. he thought vince had changed so much. the trip was so much fun and i'm glad my mom invited me and vince to go.

glen had a great time. they went to yellowstone and to jackson hole, wy. he saw lots of wildlife, national forest, and a great road show at the bar j wrangler ranch.

it was a great week but we are happy to be a family back together!
