have you ever had one of those weeks where you are just off a day or two. well as most know glen is getting the end of his "new teeth journey" and so i had to call the dentist to schedule an appointment for him to get impressions taken so they can start making his bridge of permanent teeth. well i totally argued with the receptionist on which day it was and if tomorrow was going to be Wednesday or Thursday. i'm an idiot. the days go by and i don't even know it. so needless to say the receptionist was right and i felt like a total dork. anyways i know that today is Wednesday and tomorrow is Thursday.
so i thought a 6 month photo shoot was in order. please ignore his green stretchy pants. i know they are a bit ugly but they are warm and they match his cool "paint by numbers" onsie.
i love his little belly bulging.
he's infatuated with his hands right now.
i threw him in this bucket and gave him a sign...love his lips.
his favorite...red paper!!!
so yesterday for dinner i made split pea soup. yes i know, if you were to look at the soup you would think we just threw some of vince's diapers in the crockpot and stirred it up...but if you can get over that fact that it isn't a very pretty soup and just eat the soup and taste it...you would love it. it was such an easy recipe too. the recipe and picture are from http://thecrepesofwrath.wordpress.com/ (she has awesome stuff on her blog)

Split Pea Soup
1 (16 oz.) package of dried green split peas, rinsed

Split Pea Soup
1 (16 oz.) package of dried green split peas, rinsed
1 meaty hambone or 2 cups diced ham
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 onion, diced
2 ribs of celery plus leaves, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp. seasoned salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp. fresh pepper
5 1/2 cups hot water
1. Layer ingredients in the crock pot in the order that they’re listed and pour in water. Do not stir ingredients.
2. Cover and cook on high 4 to 5 hours or on low 8 to 10 hours until peas are very soft and ham falls off bone. Remove bones and bay leaf. Mash peas to thicken more. Serve garnished with croutons.
okay well, it's been nice. i hear my boy calling out for me from his room and i have to go scrub down the bathrooms. lucky me.
