so today was our first basketball tournement. things went pretty well. my little k-2nd team did great. infact, they totally kicked butt! all the kids ran so hard and shot so many times...i think the smallest boy on our team had 15 points. crazy! my 3-4th grade team did a great job too. one thing i learned from day one:
don't waste all your lungs in the first 2 games the reasons being....
1. usually the kids don't listen
2. if by some slim small tiny chance that the kids are listening to you, they usually don't understand a word you're saying
3. it will give you headache for the remainder of the day
4. you'll be super tired for games 4, 5, and 6.
it was a fun day and it was fun to see the kids succeed. i was proud of them.
vince did really well. glen only had to work half a day so he could watch vince for most of the day. it was nice to have glen there! i'm always glad when he's around (when we are in the crane public) i'm still trying to learn who everyone is and who they all belong to and who they are all related to....so confusing, but i am getting it.
this week we've been watching/housing/feeding/entertaining a 9 year old neighbor. his parents went to boise for a cattle meeting and he didn't want to miss basketball (he's one of the studly players on my 3-4th grade team) wow what an adjustment. going from a baby to a 9 year old. wow. he's been super good, although i think he hates all my cooking...the kid doesn't eat anything. he'll eat my brownies and ice cream and my cinnamon toast crunch, but nothing for dinner...he said he wasn't hungry. o-well. ask glen, i am a good cook. ihe goes home tonight. his parents are going to stop and pick him up. it's been a good time.
tomorrow i'm hoping for a calm realaxing day full of nothing but vince & glen. i'm tired.

what a great picture of Vince. That should be your picture of the day. Did you get your kit yet? mine came a few days ago and it's super cute. Let's see if I can keep up with it now!
I bet you're getting ready for a great vacay & some rest & relaxation in HAWAII! So jealous, but also so happy for you to be able to do that. What a fun time. If you get a chance when you come beforehand to come over for a bit, do! Love you & miss you
Who is the kid - a Davies? He looks familiar. Next time go for a 10/11 year old girl, you'll want to adopt one. They are so helpful, fun, not hormonal (yet), love babies, help you cook, love to clean other people's houses and good company. You'd like feeding Monkey - he is so fun to cook for because everything is "SOOOooo good Mom!" and he eats a ton. Makes you feel like a professional gourmet chef. And, he makes you laugh because when he see's what is for dinner, no matter what kind of meat it is, he says, "oh good, Chicken!" :) See ya Wednesday!
